[When the video feed starts, it's too dark to make out much of anything. It's hard to tell where the feed is even coming from, and the only sign that there is anyone around is the sound of rustling in the background...like wings flapping as something (or a lot of somethings) flies around in close quarters.

Then, several pairs of eyes start to glow purple in the gloom as a Galvantula comes into focus, her furry body jumping with bits of static that brighten the darkness just enough so whoever is actually making this video can be seen. Just before his face comes into view he starts to laugh, cackling until the feed finally reveals one Jimmy Two-Shoes seated on the floor of a balcony with his long legs threaded through the rungs of the side of the staircase. Everything looks very old, broken down, and quite honestly spooky in here, which is exactly what he wants.]

Gooood morning Johto! I hope you guys know what day it is, because things are about to get real SPOOKY around here!

[Jimmy laughs again as the Galvantula steps just a bit closer to provide more light. It's clearer now that Jimmy's in an old house of some sort with creaky floorboards, drafty windows, and cobwebs covering everything in sight. There are also a lot of Pokemon hovering in the background too- Noibat, Phantump, Zubat, and the like. Perched on his shoulder is a very grumpy looking Murkrow with a scratch on her beak who turns her head to pull at the unruly feathers along her wings now and then as Jimmy talks.]

It's the first day of October, which means we've only got 30 days until Halloween! Us guys from the Eve's Garden Circus have got lots of spooky, scary tricks and treats planned for you guys! It's been a lot of work getting everything put together, but I think you'll find it all to be terribly terrifying!~

[WELL if anyone's been wondering where Jimmy's been hiding all September, now you know. Haunted Houses don't scarify themselves, you know.]

But we're still not done yet! We're gonna need a lotta elbow grease to get things as spooky as they can be for Halloween! If anybody wants to come help out, we'd love to have some extra hands over here! The Haunted House is in the same place it was last year, the spooky mansion on the hill in Goldenrod!

Let's make this Halloween even spookier than it was last year!

What's Halloween?

Is it some sort of festival that involves scaring people? There isn't anything like this back home.

[Judging from the background of the video, Rossiu's in a cave, so he's been missing out on the start of Halloween season. No one has explained this to him. Sorry, Jimmy.]

[NEVER BE SORRY, because if he wants an explanation of Halloween then he's come to the right person. Miseryville was practically made for Halloween, after all, so the thrill of the holiday really has him in high spirits. It's the closest he can get to being right back at home.]

Oh man, you don't know what Halloween is? It's pretty much exactly that, yup! Everybody gets to dress up in scary costumes. But scaring is just part of the fun! You get to get lots and lots of candy too! Can't have the tricks without the treats, after all.

...What's the purpose of it though? Is it a holiday that only exists here?

[Sure, it sounds interesting, but holidays usually happen for some sort of reason, right??]

[Jimmy shakes his head a little, his legs swinging over the edge of the balcony.]

Nah, it's not just here! People celebrate Halloween all over, but...I dunno how it actually started.

Oh, I see. That's interesting. So it's a holiday that's been going on for a long time then? It sounds fascinating!

Uh huh! Do you think you'll be around Goldenrod any time this month? Cause if you get a chance to come by the Haunted House, you'll get a first hand idea of what Halloween is like!

Oh, no, unfortunately I won't be. I've been staying in Lavender Town, so I'm all the way in Kanto.

Aww...

[Jimmy sighs, leaning his head against one of the banister rungs.]

Well, that's okay. Both regions will have people celebrating Halloween, so I bet you won't be missing out on anything. I'd offer to give you a ride over, but I've never actually been to Lavender Town before.

Don't worry about it! I've been volunteering here and I really would hate to leave, so I'm sure I'll see some interesting things over here! I've been told that Lavender Town used to be a scary place, though that was before I moved here.

Oh yeah? Sounds like a pretty cool place...I'll have to go visit sometime! What made you decide to move there?

Ah... Well, actually, I woke up here after that last strange weekend we had and I never left! Large cities like Goldenrod are a bit too much for me. Sometimes Lavender's a bit too much for me, but I really do like it.

Makes sense! Goldenrod's prolly my favorite because it's so big. It kinda reminds me of home because of that. The city seemed to go on foreeever back home, too, and Goldenrod's kinda the same way.

Oh, really? That's great! I'm glad it's similar to your home. I've been missing mine a lot lately, which is... actually why I'm here.

[He gestures to the cave in general. It looks like he's got a tent set up and everything so he's probably been here for awhile.]

Goldenrod is absolutely nothing like home, it was a bit terrifying, honestly. What's your home like? Does it look like Goldenrod or is it just a large city?

Yeah...it's pretty easy to get homesick sometimes. 'Specially if you've been here a long time.

And yeah, it's pretty big! It's not the same in a lot of ways, though. Goldenrod doesn't have mountains or an ocean...though the forest around the routes just outside the city is kinda the same.

Have you been to the mountains or the ocean back home? Are they different from the ones here? I never got to see the ocean back home. I don't even know if there is one, honestly.

[...well he hasn't experienced the Beach Episode yet, so um.]

I've been to both, yeah! And, well...the ocean is way different. It's less of an ocean like you'd see here and more of a...

...it's an ocean of lava, not water! And the sky's red back home, not blue. That was one of the first things I thought was pretty weird about this place.

Really? That's incredible. I've never heard of a place like that. What are the people like in your world?

There aren't as many humans, for one thing. They're all demons, but they're the really cool, nice kind!

[Because you know, there are nice demons out there.]

Demons? What are they like?

[..."Demons" could really mean anything here, couldn't it...?]

Demons are liiike...well, to be honest, I don't think they're that different from humans, really! The biggest thing is that they look different. Like, they've got horns and claws and are all red or green n'stuff, but they pretty much go about their days just the same as everyone else!

[Miseryville would be positively mundane- and, well, miserable- to anyone but Jimmy Two-Shoes, because even the demons aren't the scary, bloodthirsty kind that most people probably think about. They can be surprisingly average sometimes.]
