001 | Video/Action for New Bark
[When the feed begins, anyone tuning in to the Network is going to be graced with a nose curiously sniffing at the 'Gear, which nearly drowns out the barely detectable sound of someone cheerily humming to the ever present background music that happens to accompany New Bark Town and just about everywhere besides. The humming stops before the creature behind said nose is gently pulled away, revealing the cheery face of a boy who couldn't be much older than 15. He sits with the 'Gear held against his knees, a bright, gap-toothed grin on his face as he shifts into a more comfortable position with his back to a tree.
Sitting in his lap is a rather fluffy Electrike who seems overly curious with just about everything the boy is doing. So much so, in fact, that he has to put a hand on the Pokémon's head to get him to sit still long enough so he can talk.]
Beezy! Heloise! Are you guys around? Can you hear me-?
[The Electrike lets out a low, playful growl and bumps his head against the bottom of the boy's chin, causing him to laugh and trial off before he can continue.]
Heheh, looks like I made a new friend! Gonna hafta' come up with a nickname for you, boy.
[He seems pleased by that, finally settling down enough so the boy can turn his full attention to the 'Gear in his hands.]
Anyways, my name's Jimmy, Jimmy Two-Shoes! I uh....wow, I've never seen a place as bright and nice as this! And the sky is blue, that's awesmazing!
[Clearly this is a kid who hasn't experienced Pokémon in any way, shape, or form....but one wonders as to why the sky should strike him as unusual.
Also yes that is a word that he may or may not have come up with because why not.]
But....could anybody out there tell me where I am, exactly? Or how I got here from Miseryville? I know the map says "New Bark Town", but...I've never heard of a place like that. ..Maybe one of Heloise's inventions sent me here and I just forgot or something...
[He shakes his head a little, laughing to himself. Jimmy might not exactly understand what's going on, but he doesn't seem to be chomping at the bit to go home or anything. He's used to strange and different creatures, so the idea of Pokémon is just something new for him to experience.
Jimmy trails off again after that, distracted by just about everything from the strangely colored sky, to the people (and someone claiming to be his...mom. Not sure what that was about, but she was nice enough. ...Not that he's ever had one.), to the Pokémon themselves. He eventually ends the feed there, the picture of an excited child with lots of questions waiting to be answered.]

Jimmy leans back from the screen, his smile fading only a little.]
Well yeah, I guesso...but the thing is they might be here too, right?
[That's what he's counting on, at least. ...aaand well, he doesn't have any family to worry about so....yeah.
Also nice try, Crocker, but still no cigar. Jimmy's just going to keep upholding a casual conversation with you because you're a casual person, right?]
[The man this time yells and ominously states to the Pokemon. Maybe Crocker needs to get to Jimmy indirectly. Wait! Did child's smile fade a little? Success! But Crocker is aiming more for a complete reversed smile.]
Don't be so optimistic! ... Though you're right they may be here but that's besides the point!
But I wouldn't count on such things seeing as no one knows why this place brings you here.
[The man ends with a slight evil nerdy chuckle.]
But shhh shh Jimmy is petting you, all is well. He doesn't seem upset by the crazy man at any rate.
Jimmy just giggles, shrugging his shoulders a little.]
Well, if they're not here yet I'll just have to wait for them!
[What a strange, silly man.]
Mmmmmm, loyally, I like that. But still - F!
[He draws an 'F' on the screen with a red marker.]
Unfortunately for Crocker Jimmy's actually never been to school, and thus the novelty of academic failure is lost on him.]
Eheh, right. So anyways, you said you've been here for a year, right? What's it been like?
Tell me... This Miseryville you're from is there by any chance misery there?
[There's a pause as Crocker eyes Jimmy closely with sharp eyes.]
Let me answer your question with my own.
You want to know about my time here?
And I should tell a child like you why?
[That's kinda the point.]
...Well....why not? I'm new and I could really use the advice of someone with some actual experience here.
[Out of the goodness of your heart, perhaps? Jimmy may as well be preaching to the choir.]
Make you a deal you tell me about your Miseryville and I, Mr. Crocker will tell you about my time here.
[There's no plotting going on in Crocker's head on how to break you here, Jimmy.]
Ok, that seems fair!
What do you wanna know?
[Don't test him, he could talk about this place for days.]
[The man chuckles like an evil nerd afterwards as his glasses seem to gleam.]
And of course all of his neat Misery Inc. products!
[He counts off on his fingers as calmly as you please, as if he's discussing the weather.]
Mmmm.... Sounds like Dimmsdale during the summer. That is outside of the lava worms.
[All of which Crocker means that it's hot and the children are like monsters destorying the town.]
Neat Misery Inc products?!
You almost sound like you enjoy being tormented.
[It's the exact opposite in Miseryville, because Jimmy's the only child actively destroying anything. ...Not on purpose, mind.]
Tormented? No, Heloise's inventions are great! ...Most of them. Just gotta be careful. They don't often torment me!
[Or else you'll make a slew of indestructible clones of yourself.]
[The man sounds like he's isn't all that thrilled about his home world but it may be because he's finally starting to settle here and getting friends! That's when the man's ears twitch. Most of them?]
What do you mean most of them?
[Please share with the class, Jimmy.]
[He wags a finger in a circle next to his head for emphasis before pointing at Crocker.]
Okay, now you tell me what your time has been like here!
[C'mon, you promised.]
Well, I'm a man of my word.
[He pauses for a moment where to begin? His eyes seem to wander.]
Where to begin?
...Oh, and what kind'a Pokémon do you have?
[He fires off those questions without even giving himself pause to breathe. Afterwards he does stop for a moment before gasping.]
Oh wait! You haven't even told me your name!
Drat. [Suppose not.]
You can call me, Mr. Crocker. [Child. As Denzel peers at Jimmy from the bottom of his glases that seem to let off a gleam.]
I ended up spending some time in the forest. [Which is the truth a few days in Denzel was in the Illex Forest with Dist.... Hiding from the law.]
Which then I ended up in Goldenrod City.
As for what - POKEMON - I have. I have a Growlithe, Arbok, Eevee, Oshawottl, Ralts, Mightyena and five - STANTLER!
[How does the man twist his body like that on Pokemon?]
Most of which have been raised from Pokemon eggs.
[Oi, Jimmy sure does radiate the feeling of some of the students he may have had the displeasure of teaching. Except he's a few years older and...a lot happier, all things considered.
Maybe he HAS faries instead of actually being one?]Wow, five? That's so cool! I guess it makes sense that you've got so many Pokémon, though, 'specially if you've been here almost a year!
Nah, if Jimmy did have any fairies the boy would had started with a Cleffa. After all Crocker has noticed your first Pokemon tells something about the person. However, he has been feeling like he's back in the classroom. Kind of...]Not really. I only captured them because of the infestation of Stantler that happened on Christmas.
Yes and there's many more I'd like to capture.
[Pokemon are power after all.]
Tell me, Jimmy. Where do you think you're going to be headed next, mmm?
[Going to keep tabs on the boy and possibly steal Jimmy's Pokemon.]
And clearly Crocker is trustworthy and Jimmy should be telling him where he's going. CLEARLY.]
Oh! I'm headed to Cherrygrove next! I'll prolly stay there a couple days, see if I can meet some more new people....maybe I can join someone else and travel with them, or something.
Why would anyone want to travel with you?
[The man remarks in distaste.]
Why wouldn't anyone want to travel with me..?
... I mean.
Because your enthusiasm is annoying.
[So, so rude.]
And sorry, but I can't help it. If you ask me, bein' grouchy all the time is more annoying.
