awesmazings | 001 | Video/Action for New Bark

[When the feed begins, anyone tuning in to the Network is going to be graced with a nose curiously sniffing at the 'Gear, which nearly drowns out the barely detectable sound of someone cheerily humming to the ever present background music that happens to accompany New Bark Town and just about everywhere besides. The humming stops before the creature behind said nose is gently pulled away, revealing the cheery face of a boy who couldn't be much older than 15. He sits with the 'Gear held against his knees, a bright, gap-toothed grin on his face as he shifts into a more comfortable position with his back to a tree.

Sitting in his lap is a rather fluffy Electrike who seems overly curious with just about everything the boy is doing. So much so, in fact, that he has to put a hand on the Pokémon's head to get him to sit still long enough so he can talk.]

Beezy! Heloise! Are you guys around? Can you hear me-?

[The Electrike lets out a low, playful growl and bumps his head against the bottom of the boy's chin, causing him to laugh and trial off before he can continue.]

Heheh, looks like I made a new friend! Gonna hafta' come up with a nickname for you, boy.

[He seems pleased by that, finally settling down enough so the boy can turn his full attention to the 'Gear in his hands.]

Anyways, my name's Jimmy, Jimmy Two-Shoes! I uh....wow, I've never seen a place as bright and nice as this! And the sky is blue, that's awesmazing!

[Clearly this is a kid who hasn't experienced Pokémon in any way, shape, or form....but one wonders as to why the sky should strike him as unusual.

Also yes that is a word that he may or may not have come up with because why not.]

But....could anybody out there tell me where I am, exactly? Or how I got here from Miseryville? I know the map says "New Bark Town", but...I've never heard of a place like that. ..Maybe one of Heloise's inventions sent me here and I just forgot or something...

[He shakes his head a little, laughing to himself. Jimmy might not exactly understand what's going on, but he doesn't seem to be chomping at the bit to go home or anything. He's used to strange and different creatures, so the idea of Pokémon is just something new for him to experience.

Jimmy trails off again after that, distracted by just about everything from the strangely colored sky, to the people (and someone claiming to be his...mom. Not sure what that was about, but she was nice enough. ...Not that he's ever had one.), to the Pokémon themselves. He eventually ends the feed there, the picture of an excited child with lots of questions waiting to be answered.]

Essentially, yes. [Really, who knows. This world is based on a game so maybe they materialized via coding coming together and forming a human. Or maybe the were magicked here. Or maybe--

A red sky, hm? And two suns? You're from a very curious place. Are you a different creature back home? I am sort of assuming not, since you are not currently freaking out about being a human...

Uuhh, no I'm a human! ...I think.

[He cautiously pats the front of his shirt as he says this, as if checking just to be sure. Jimmy, do you know what a human is?]

But yeah, that's Miseryville! It must not be anywhere near....wherever this is, I guess.

You think? [There's a quirked brow to accompany the curious, perhaps a little teasing question.]

It likely isn't, no. As far as anyone can tell, it's not near anywhere that we've come from.

Well...actually, where I'm from...Miseryville is kinda, like, the whole planet! ...Well, there's Miseryville the town, but then there's the forest and the beach and stuff.

Maybe this place is just on the other side of the world and I never knew about it.

[STILL DOESN'T EXPLAIN HOW HE GOT HERE THOUGH.]

Well if that's the case, we would all have to live on your planet. And in my world, our planet was destroyed. So.

.... oh! ..Gosh, I'm sorry.

Guess this place really isn't anywhere near Miseryville, then.

[She's had plenty of time here in Johto, plus all of this bullshit at home to keep her occupied.]

It could be. Really anything is possible! We just don't know, and people come from so many different places it would be strange if we all originated from one planet and Johto and Kanto are just tucked away somewhere.

Plus there's the fact that in some of our home worlds, we've played the games this world is based on. Or...the games based on this world. I'm not sure which it would be, honestly.

Oh, ok good!

[Not good that your world got all blown up and stuff, though.]

Wait...there are games based on this world?

[Ironically enough Jimmy may have been familiar with the games during his actual life, but now we'll never know since he's...technically dead.]

It may still be the other way around, but yes. Though in the games I played, Johto didn't exist. It was merely Kanto. Which ironically enough we couldn't visit when we first arrived. Or when most of us did, I guess. Since technically those arriving after the train and boat could access Kanto from the beginning if they wanted to.

[That's a shame, but hey. At least he's no longer dead?]

[That's always a plus, yes! Fortunately, Jimmy never really knew he was dead to begin with. Best not worry about it now.]

That's pretty cool! I wish I could'a played those games... but I guess learning through my own experience will be even more fun!
