001 | Video/Action for New Bark
[When the feed begins, anyone tuning in to the Network is going to be graced with a nose curiously sniffing at the 'Gear, which nearly drowns out the barely detectable sound of someone cheerily humming to the ever present background music that happens to accompany New Bark Town and just about everywhere besides. The humming stops before the creature behind said nose is gently pulled away, revealing the cheery face of a boy who couldn't be much older than 15. He sits with the 'Gear held against his knees, a bright, gap-toothed grin on his face as he shifts into a more comfortable position with his back to a tree.
Sitting in his lap is a rather fluffy Electrike who seems overly curious with just about everything the boy is doing. So much so, in fact, that he has to put a hand on the Pokémon's head to get him to sit still long enough so he can talk.]
Beezy! Heloise! Are you guys around? Can you hear me-?
[The Electrike lets out a low, playful growl and bumps his head against the bottom of the boy's chin, causing him to laugh and trial off before he can continue.]
Heheh, looks like I made a new friend! Gonna hafta' come up with a nickname for you, boy.
[He seems pleased by that, finally settling down enough so the boy can turn his full attention to the 'Gear in his hands.]
Anyways, my name's Jimmy, Jimmy Two-Shoes! I uh....wow, I've never seen a place as bright and nice as this! And the sky is blue, that's awesmazing!
[Clearly this is a kid who hasn't experienced Pokémon in any way, shape, or form....but one wonders as to why the sky should strike him as unusual.
Also yes that is a word that he may or may not have come up with because why not.]
But....could anybody out there tell me where I am, exactly? Or how I got here from Miseryville? I know the map says "New Bark Town", but...I've never heard of a place like that. ..Maybe one of Heloise's inventions sent me here and I just forgot or something...
[He shakes his head a little, laughing to himself. Jimmy might not exactly understand what's going on, but he doesn't seem to be chomping at the bit to go home or anything. He's used to strange and different creatures, so the idea of Pokémon is just something new for him to experience.
Jimmy trails off again after that, distracted by just about everything from the strangely colored sky, to the people (and someone claiming to be his...mom. Not sure what that was about, but she was nice enough. ...Not that he's ever had one.), to the Pokémon themselves. He eventually ends the feed there, the picture of an excited child with lots of questions waiting to be answered.]

[...He could be. Who knows. Saionji tends to treat actual children more nicely, but still.] Ehhh? A red sky? Where was Miseryville, anyway?
no subject
[....presumably. He's pretty sure that's how old he is. Shh don't ask because he doesn't actually know for whatever reason.
And it's not lame it's rad as heck.]
Uh huh! ...Uh.
[That stumps him for a second, the hand that had been idly petting Electrike going still, causing the Pokemon to look up at him curiously.]
Well...I dunno, actually! I mean...Miseryville is a town, but...it's kindof part of a whole planet too.
[Aren't all towns?]
no subject
[...Moving on.]
Oh, so your world is like this place? Tough. We're stuck to these two regions. [Not actually grasping that Miseryville is the entire fucking thing]
no subject
Yeah, I guess it is! ....Kinda. But other than Miseryville there are other places, like the beach and the forest...
..How big is this place here, actually?
no subject
[SAIONJI THAT'S A FUCKING LIE AND YOU KNOW IT] Kanto and Johto have beaches and forests too, but that other region has cities of gold and the most beautiful of creatures!
no subject
Huh...really?
Tell me more about it, please!
[Aaand he's just going to settle down like a kid about to hear a bedtime story because he's already seen enough amazing creatures today to peak his interest.]

It's called Majto! [she pulled that name out of her ass] If you pay for a ticket on the boat and don't get on, instead swimming in the other direction, in around ten minutes, a strange, magical island will appear- that's Majto!
Oh, but you can only get onshore if you give the ticket you bought for the boat to someone standing on the pier. Also, it's gonna be a bit tricky to swim to there with any extra baggage, because of the water currents!
If you want to attempt getting to Majto, I'll be so kind as to take that Pokèmon off your hands until you get there.

The instant she mentions taking Electrike the Pokémon bristles, letting out a low growl. Well this sure is suspicious Jimmynodon't-]
That sounds so cool!
[Nnooooooo.]
...but why would I need to give you my Pokémon? I mean he's not that big or anything so I don't think he'd really get in the way...
[More growling from Electrike as he paws at the 'Gear in Jimmy's hands a little. IT'S A TRICK TURN IT OFF.]

[Ayani, her Mawile, hears growling and peers at the screen. Oh hey who are you]
no subject
[Of course he doesn't realize that sort of thing won't leave him totally unscathed in this world but details.
At least he can't actually die.
Electrike eyes Ayani warily, but turns his attention back to Saionji, his teeth still bared slightly at the screen.]
You said there were beautiful creatures there, yeah? What do they look like?
no subject
[Ayani cannot read the atmosphere. HEY WHAT'S UP WHY ARE YOU LOOKING SO MAD??? Saionji, though, gives the Electrike a sneaky glance.] There are swans with wingspans of entire lakes, swirling flower petals on a water's surface like an elegant dance!
Creatures with eyes as bright as the sun dancing in the night, able to disappear and reappear at will... mammals of every hue that sing in an almost human melody... there's a lot more we don't know yet!
no subject
[In a world where being decapitated and having your limbs hacked off never really meant much in the grand scheme of things. Plus you can't really hurt yourself all that much if you're already dead, can you?
Electrike would be hissing right now if he were less dog-like. Sorry Ayani, it's not you, it's your tiny little unassuming trainer who's trying to pull the wool over Jimmy's eyes.]
Wooooow...Yaknow, if this region is that great, I wonder why more people aren't visiting it more often?
[And that's a legit question, by the way. He's not at all keen to any suspicious activity on Saionji's part.]
no subject
It's simple, isn't it? If any old hag could get there, all that beauty would be turned into corporate money and slandered! Only the pure of heart can even hope to see the island's shores.
I pride myself in being a good judge of character. [hahaha] I'm confident you can get there!
[Ayani blinks, and start signing at Jimmy too. DON'T DO THE THING- she gets subtly shoved off.]
no subject
Aw man! Yeah, that makes sense! There's no way I wouldn't be able to get there!
[Jimmy just smiles at Ayani, not seeming to register her actions as being strange at all. He even shrugs off Electrike when he starts tugging on Jimmy's sleeves, trying desperately to distract him and get his attention elsewhere.]
Thanks for telling me about it! ...What was your name again?
[Jimmy, if you so much as think about meeting up with her, Electrike will personally drag you off by the collar.]
no subject
Still got it, Saionji, still got it. By the lord's name she will so eat up his expression when he realizes she was lying
On the topic of names, though...]
You want to know my name? It's Saionji Hiyoko! What's yours?
[fuck off electrike]
no subject
My name's Jimmy! Jimmy Two-Shoes!
[Seriously.]
no subject
[Don't mind her, though, she's going to stalk his video feed for a while longer and see her act fail. Still, though...]
