[Jimmy isn't an uncommon presence on the Network, but it's actually been a while since he's posted a video of any kind. Today when the feed flickers on he can be seen sitting cross-legged on the edge of a bed in a hotel room with a Quilava draped bodily over his shoulder. Even after evolving, Fahren seems to have remained as clingy as ever and doesn't plan on leaving any time soon. Judging by the sound of hailstones clattering against the roof in the background, that likely means it's going to be another stay-in-with-your-fire-types (and electric dog, who is permanently glued to Jimmy's side regardless) kind of day, but that doesn't make Jimmy any less excited. Today is pretty special, after all.]

Would you guys believe it if I told you that it's been a whole year today since I first got here? It doesn't really feel like it's been that long already...but at the same time, it's like I've been here forever.

[He lifts a hand to pet the side of Fahren's face when the Pokemon turns to nuzzle his head into his neck with a yawn.]

There's also another thing I realized a couple months back, sometime last year. I've seen lotsa people here have birthdays and stuff, but I actually can't remember when mine is. I think...maybe it might've been sometime around now?

But since I don't really know, I'm just gonna say it's today, since I've been here a year. [He grins brightly and leans back a little, showing his ever present gap-tooth.] So I'm sixteen now! I was thinkin' bout going outside to do something for it, but the weather is pretty bad...but that's alright! I don't mind stayin' inside so much, 'specially since it's so cold.

[He lowers the Gear, which shows a clearer shot of the rest of his bed. His Manectric is there stretched out on his side, and taking up the entire rest of he bed is Inferno the resident flame moth acting as the fuzziest heated blanket on the planet.]

Anyways, I hope everybody had a good Valentine's this weekend! I had a whole lot of fun and even met some new people! And ate a whoole lotta chocolate, too.

[With another small laugh he ends the feed there.]

[The background of the video is clearly a Pokémon Center, but the kid in front of the video is a little more distracting. He looks far too serious and he's wearing an overly puffy white coat.]

[If it helps, Jimmy's used to serious faces like that. At least his is serious and not the angry sort of serious.]

What is "Valentine's"? A few people have mentioned it here, but I've never heard of it before. I apologize for asking out of nowhere like this, but it's been bothering me.

Don't apologize! It's a holiday! I think most people around here come from places that celebrate it.

It's actually a holiday that's kinda meant for people who are, well...together, yaknow? But it's really for anybody to enjoy, I think. People celebrate by giving each other chocolate and flowers and stuff like that!

[adai]

Together...? Oh, like a couple.

[Hmm. That sounds like an odd holiday. Why would you need one special day for the person you're with??]

That does sound nice. I've never heard of anything like that before.

Yeah! We didn't really celebrate it back home where I'm from, either, so it's been really nice to get to. I'm hoping that maybe if my friend Lucius ever shows up here, I'll be able to convince him that it's something we should start celebrating, too!

[adai]

That sounds wonderful. What's your world like?

[He's very curious, okay.]

Well, my home is a lot different from here. The sky is red and so are the oceans- [because, you know. lava.] -and there actually aren't so many humans around. It's mostly demons and other monsters like that, but they're all just as friendly as you and me! It's a lot hotter back home than it is here, so that took some getting used to...

[adai]

Your home sounds very interesting. I've never seen any place like that. I am familiar with the heat though. This place is much colder than anywhere I've been back home.

[Snow is still a novel concept...]

Oh, really? What is your home like?

[adai]

Well, back home most of humanity lived underground. The surface world is mostly barren. There's not much water and it's very hot during the day. It gets cooler at night, but never this cold.

[awesmazings]

[Huh...kindof reminds him of Miseryville a little.]

So is that why you guys live underground? Because the surface doesn't have much on it?

And what's that like?

[adai]

No, that's not it. I'm sure we could find a way to live on the surface if we could, but unfortunately we can't. There are creatures called beastmen that patrol the surface and kill any humans they see up there.

[awesmazings]

[That causes Jimmy's brows to lift a bit in surprise.]

Beastmen? Gosh, that's...that's terrible! There isn't any way you can, like...fight back or something?

[adai]

Yes, there is. The beastmen fight in gunmen, which are... basically giant robots. We've managed to take several of them so we can fight back, but there are only a few of us against all of them. I'm a little worried about our chances of survival.

[awesmazings]

Well, at least you guys have something going, right? That's better than nothing. And you never know, your luck might turn around!

[adai]

Yes, that's true. I really do hope things turn around.

[He looks pensive about that for a moment before he forces himself to keep going.]

It's no problem! S'long as you keep your hopes up, things will probably get better. You'll see!

What's your name, by the way? I don't think I've seen you around here before.

Oh, I'm Rossiu. I only got here a little while ago. It's very nice to meet you, Jimmy.

It's nice to meet you too, Rossiu! Well, if you come from a place where it's dangerous to live on the surface, I think you'll like it here. It isn't quite as bad as that.

[adai]

I'm very glad to hear that. I know I'll have to return home at some point to help the others but... it's sort of nice to be here. I hope that's not too selfish of me.

Aw, I don't think it's selfish at all. This is a really nice place, so I'm not surprised that people like it. Some people like being here for different reasons than others, but I don't think it's a bad thing to enjoy your time here while you are here, yaknow?

[adai]

Yes, that's very true. I've heard that time doesn't pass back home while I'm here, so I'm alright with staying here for awhile.

[awesmazings]

It doesn't, that's right! So you could really stay here for a couple years, and when you go back home it'll be exactly the same time as it was when you first left.

[adai]

Right. I don't think it will be easy to leave a place that's this laid-back, but I have things I need to do back home, so I won't be upset. I can't leave them there forever, even if time doesn't pass.
