[Jimmy isn't an uncommon presence on the Network, but it's actually been a while since he's posted a video of any kind. Today when the feed flickers on he can be seen sitting cross-legged on the edge of a bed in a hotel room with a Quilava draped bodily over his shoulder. Even after evolving, Fahren seems to have remained as clingy as ever and doesn't plan on leaving any time soon. Judging by the sound of hailstones clattering against the roof in the background, that likely means it's going to be another stay-in-with-your-fire-types (and electric dog, who is permanently glued to Jimmy's side regardless) kind of day, but that doesn't make Jimmy any less excited. Today is pretty special, after all.]

Would you guys believe it if I told you that it's been a whole year today since I first got here? It doesn't really feel like it's been that long already...but at the same time, it's like I've been here forever.

[He lifts a hand to pet the side of Fahren's face when the Pokemon turns to nuzzle his head into his neck with a yawn.]

There's also another thing I realized a couple months back, sometime last year. I've seen lotsa people here have birthdays and stuff, but I actually can't remember when mine is. I think...maybe it might've been sometime around now?

But since I don't really know, I'm just gonna say it's today, since I've been here a year. [He grins brightly and leans back a little, showing his ever present gap-tooth.] So I'm sixteen now! I was thinkin' bout going outside to do something for it, but the weather is pretty bad...but that's alright! I don't mind stayin' inside so much, 'specially since it's so cold.

[He lowers the Gear, which shows a clearer shot of the rest of his bed. His Manectric is there stretched out on his side, and taking up the entire rest of he bed is Inferno the resident flame moth acting as the fuzziest heated blanket on the planet.]

Anyways, I hope everybody had a good Valentine's this weekend! I had a whole lot of fun and even met some new people! And ate a whoole lotta chocolate, too.

[With another small laugh he ends the feed there.]

I've seen a couple a'little ones but I ain't seen any of the big ones yet -- well, not up close, anyway. Mostly I just see 'em up above, flyin' around town...

Must be nice. The flyin', I mean.

It's so cool. If you ever get a chance to raise a Pokemon that you can fly on, I really recommend doing it. I mean, it's nothing like flying in those jets were. The jets were super cool, too, but there's just something real neat about getting to fly in the open air.

I bet it's pretty windy, too.

But it sounds like a lotta fun! More fun than havin' t'spend a week draggin' yourself through the snow whenever you wanna go somewhere.

What kinda Pokemon do you fly on?

I've got two! I usually fly on Inferno, my Volcarona. She's like a giant furry moth, and she's a fire type so it helps when it's really cold out like this.

[God only knows how one actually flies on a moth, given how they...fly, but Jimmy manages.]

And then there's Pip, my Noivern. He's a bat! He's not quite as good of a flier yet as Inferno is, though, so I've been trying to let him practice a little closer to the ground before actually traveling to a town on him.

So a flyin' fire type is like, the best one to go for then? You wouldn't have ta worry about wind chill as much... and I guess it just makes for a cozier ride.

Yeah, sure are! Pip's actually a lil' bit smaller than most Noiverns are, so I think that's partially why he has a bit more trouble flying with me on his back. But I think he'll get the hang of it, though.

[Jimmy nods.]

Mhm, that's right! I think it's good to have more than one Pokemon who can Fly or Surf, just so you can switch out depending on where you gotta go.

[ she goes quiet for a moment, looking up and away from the screen, evidently mulling it over in her head. ]

I don't think I have any Pokemon that learns either a'those... like, Kirarin can't go anywhere near water, 'cuz she's basically a big all of static... an' the others are all too little to ride on.

What should I try catchin'? For flyin' and stuff. You sound like you know what you're talkin' about.

Alright! Well...first of all, where are you right now? It'd help to know what kind of Pokemon you got near you that you could catch.

Oh -- Goldenrod. So like, pretty close to the National Park an' that big forest.

S'mostly bugs and birds in there though, I think.

Yup, that's right! I'm in Goldenrod a lot so I know it pretty well by now, and there's a lot of good Pokemon there you could catch! If you're looking for a fire type I recommend Houndour. Then there's others like Meowth, Trubbish, and Murkrow...and you can get Abra, Porygon, and Dratini from the Game Corner if you're good enough. But you can catch Abra just outside of town on the routes, too.

Man, that's way more than I could carry around...

Which one's best for travellin' with, d'you think? I already got a fire type -- one of those fox ones -- but she's real little. She's basically still a baby. An' so's Jin -- he's a little fox kinda thing too.

Lemme think...the only Pokemon from those ones I mentioned that I actually own is Houndour, though he's a Houndoom now. Not big enough to ride on or anything, but really good to have around with as cold out as it is.

My friend has a Dragonite, who is the final evolution of Dratini. Those can fly, but I think they're pretty expensive to try to win at the Game Corner. Abras can teleport though so if you were traveling and ever got into trouble, they could bring you right back to the last Pokemon Center they were healed at.
