Even if he didn't, he'd prolly have to since I'm still in it.
[ But down to the meat of why he decided to drop him a line. ]
You know... with me being preoccupied in showing Mister Spears how to relax and with what he said, it got me wondering. Ever fancied learning how to throw knives?
[ He really doesn't mind the rain so much. After all, it's almost always foggy and gloomy in London but when you're itching to teach a friend a Useful Skill, you'd like clear skies as much as possible. ]
Or I suppose we could fashion a target in an empty tent and make sure no one comes in while we're throwing things, eh?
Okay! I'm already at the circus grounds in my tent right now, so you can come over here! I'll go to the main tent and get a place cleared in the meantime!
[There would be plenty of room in there, and they'd still be sheltered from the rain.]
[Hopefully Ron thought to bring some thick clothing and maybe a good umbrella with him, because even now thunder continues to roll in the distance. Another big storm is brewing, but that doesn't seem to be deterring Jimmy in the slightest. The area immediately surrounding the tent proper is drier than it would have been, namely thanks to a Houndoom, Sunflora, and two Volacrona stationed at the entrance periodically taking turns using Sunny Day.
Inside, Jimmy has the company of his Manectric, Furret, and Breloom as they help him set up a target on the far end of the tent.]
A little to the left!
[He can be heard calling out to the Breloom, who shuffles a bit to one side with the target in his claws.]
[ He arrives a good five minutes or so later. Thankfully with his coat and hat in tow so the rain really isn't a problem. There's an appreciative whistle though when he finally slips into the tent. His Cherrim, Belle, is more than happy to join the others in the Sunny Day rotation though which she does as Ron pulls up a hair to hang his coat and jacket on before rolling up his sleeves. ]
All things considered, this isn't so bad! Good work finding us a spot.
[Jimmy flashes Ron a smile as he walks in, and just about that time is when his Breloom finally settles into the spot that Jimmy was trying to instruct him to.]
Hey, no problem! We should have plenty of room here.
It looks rather ace, if you ask me! Not bad given the circumstances. Now then. since "Mum" seems to have filched my knife and I can't find anything that'll do just as well... I've been getting by with these.
[ And with that, he's reaching for a small case Grim has just brought in from one of the other tents. Inside are a set of flat blades which seem to be more of naked knives with a bit of cloth near the edge to serve as a handle. ]
S'not as flashy as actual knives but these work a treat. Had to take the handles off because they were messing up my aim.
[ They're fanned out like a hand of cards as he speaks before he offers one to Jimmy, "handle" pointed out and sharp side in. ]
Try to get a feel for the weight. Best you get used to them first before you try tossing them about.
[Jimmy nods, carefully reaching for one of the offered knives. He holds it in his right hand for a moment before passing it to the other, his head tilting slightly as he watches the light glint off the surface of the blade.]
Mm...does it really matter which hand you use? Cause...well, I can use both hands.
[He chuckles as he passes it back to his right, shifting his grip along the cloth handle.]
[ Oh hey, that's bound to come in handy. But he seems to be fairly decent at it.
One particular knife is selected from the fan before the rest are stacked. This one, Ron's started tossing around and flipping in his hand just for practice. ]
Course not. Though I'd say to pick the hand you use for writing. Better control, methinks.
[ And with that, the knife is tossed over his shoulder without breaking from the motions of being toyed around and lands square in the middle of the target. ]
If you're ready to give it a go, pick out one of the shivs and stand a good couple of feet in front of the target. We'll start close then work our way back.
[Jimmy snaps his head around when the knife is tossed to watch it fly, an astonished gasp leaving him once the knife hits the target dead center.]
Woooah...boy, am I ever!
[Jimmy looks back down at his own knife before deciding on using his right hand. He tends to swap hands for a lot of things he does, but that one seems the safest. Then, he takes up position near the target as instructed, waving his left hand to signal for his Breloom to move out of the way.
Once he's lumbered a safe distance behind where Jimmy is standing, he holds up the knife with his lips pursed in concentration.
A second later he tosses it- a bit too hard, sending the knife jutting downwards as it clips the edge of the target and spins into the dirt.]
Not bad for a start! I've seen some who can't even get it two steps from where they stand.
[ And at that, Grim is going to float over and pick the knife up from the ground, offering it back to Ronald as he passes Jimmy another. This time though, he positions the sharp end between two of the other's fingers. ]
Try it again, mate. Prolly a bit less oomph this time and a bit to the side. Swing your arm back and don't let go 'til it's forward.
[He takes the knife carefully, paying attention to the way Ron positions it before turning his attention back to the target.
A second later he sends the next one flying without throwing it with the enthusiasm of a baseball pitcher, resulting in the knife embedding itself into the foam close to the edge.]
That'd be brilliant! M'sure my team wouldn't mind sharing the stage with your lot for a joint act sometime. Course, Ginny might complain a bit but she'll get used to it.
[ There's an eager nod from Grim as he floats around his trainer. Getting another into the act might be a great idea! His diva of an emolga will just have to deal. ]
Swot it up while I'm on the road and we'll see how good you are by the next show, yeah?
video;
Wotcher, Jim! Couldn't help but overhear that bit of a chat you had with me boss.
video;
[There's a pause, then he gasps, his ever present smile brightening.]
...does this mean he decided he wanted you guys to come to our next show after all?

[ But down to the meat of why he decided to drop him a line. ]

video;
Boy, would I!! Would you really teach me?
video;
[ Yes good. Eager students are the best. For once, he shall be the senpai! ]
We've still got a bit before we leave town so I'd be happy to see how much you can pick up before then.
video;
[Ron what have you done, he's practically vibrating and it's been all of five seconds.]
I'll be in Goldenrod for a while yet so whenever you wanna get started, I can be at the tent in just a few minutes!
[Who cares if the weather is terrible? Not Jimmy.]
video;
Makes aiming a bugger to do and the last thing I'd want is to explain to Joker why we've got to pull a knife out of someone's face.

[They'll definitely be wanting to watch regardless...not that they don't trust Ron, or anything. Jimmy's just...well, Jimmy.]
Re: video;
[ While Ginny doesn't mind chasing after stray knives, Grim on the other hand doesn't feel so enthused. ]
I could grab my hat and coat and meet you somewhere if you fancy.
video;
[There would be plenty of room in there, and they'd still be sheltered from the rain.]
video;
[ And he's just gonna grab his hat as he said as well as Ginny's pokeball. Grim is easy enough to persuade to bring along anyway. ]

I'd say with a bit more practice, you'll prolly be brilliant at it. Just have to fix your aim a bit and you'll be ace.
