[The video feed starts up with some audible, muffled snickering as Jimmy turns his Gear around to face himself. It looks like he's crouched on his knees next to a cot in a tent, presumably one of the ones set up for the circus performers in Goldenrod. He's whispering with amusement clear in his tone.]

Guys- guys. Check out Cypress.

[He turns the Gear around to show a fat little Bulbasaur sitting on a pillow on the cot, watching his trainer curiously as he tips his head to one side. For a moment he doesn't do anything but sit there...until he jerks and hiccups. His ears fall back as a low growl starts up in his throat, his eyes shifting from side to side.

Hic. ...grrrrr.

Hic. ...grrrrrRRRR.

After a third time he turns his head and paws a little at the air, the hiccups nearly hitting him with enough force to cause him to tumble over. He is a baby, after all. Basically, there's a lot of this happening (sans barking. maybe) and Jimmy can barely hold back the giggles while he watches.

He doesn't let it go on forever, though, and eventually shifts to sit on the edge of the bed, pulling the still aggressively hiccuping Bulbasaur into his lap.]

You guys know of any good ways to get rid of the hiccups?

[Okay, she's not laughing! No! Nope. Not at all. This isn't amusing at all... Except yes this is, but poor baby. At least Petra is trying to not laugh at the cute pokemon right in front of it??]

I didn't even know Pokemon could have them too... But water is good! [as you've clearly heard above.] And I've never tried either myself, but I've heard that sugar or honey or a couple of drops of vinegar might also help. Except vinegar sounds like a really bad idea for a Pokemon or any animal, really, even if it works for humans. [well, unless they like spicy food, then maybe...]

Vinegar? ...woah, I've never heard of that one before. I could try honey though, maybe? I think he'd like that, at least.

[Thankfully, the hiccups are so bad right now that Cypress is too distracted to notice anyone laughing at him...and too determined to fight whatever keeps jumping inside him.]

It could be old people's way to scare hiccup away from a girl -- or it might be a real possibility to cure it for some people. [She shrugs, she really has no experience of it herself.] Yeah, I think honey sounds like the best option of those three though since it usually helps with almost anything. And if he doesn't happen to like it, maybe you can mix a little of it into something he likes.

[She really should stop thinking that the pokemon looks adorable while he's trying to fight it.]

[He's trying so hard, bless him...]

Yeah, you're prolly right! He likes sweet stuff, so I think he'd eat it without any problem at all. ...if I can get him to focus long enough to eat, anyways.

That's good, should be a little easier then. ...Maybe the scent or bringing it near him will distract him enough to focus on it instead. Or well, you can also try quick movements if that's not enough. [Not that those are sure to work either.]

Hah, if he tries to fight me or something, then the hiccups'll prolly be gone before I can even get him to eat anything.

True. Just means it works faster, and maybe even better, than actually feeding it to him before it goes away. Not that it won't go away by itself too, but that looks just a little -- crazy for the poor baby to handle by himself.

Yeah...I wouldn't even worry about it if it wasn't bothering him so much.

[Cypress lets out a plaintive Bulbaaaa... at that, followed by another fullbody hiccup.]

Worrying is good, I guess it must be strange for him to go through an experience like that. But if it ever happens again, at least then maybe his reaction would be different.

[...Hopefully. Maybe. Who knows. Not that she'd wish for it to happen again. If it's even the first time.]

[Jimmy looks up from where he'd been scratching Cypress behind the ears to try and calm him down.]

Hm? Oh, he's a Bulbasaur! A grass-type.

[She repeats the name, silently a couple of times. Bulbasaur, huh? How she doesn't have a grass-type by now is a mystery!]

He's adorable! That would be a new type to my team.

Oh, cool! You should get one, they're really awesome. Really strong against Water, Ground, and Rock-types too!
