[It's a bright, sunny day on the road to Viridian City. It's also pretty devoid of trainers at the moment, save for Jimmy and Joker as they make their way to town. This is pretty inconvenient, given the fact that Jimmy's feeling very cheerful at the moment, but it isn't just your average, everyday Jimmy brand cheerfulness.

Oh no. He's singing. He is singing at the top of his lungs as he walks with his Gear in hand, pointed up at himself.

There is a Chatot perched on Jimmy's shoulder, and every time the song switches into the parts requiring strictly whistling, he points the Gear over at him and lets him take over. Not because he doesn't want to, of course, but because he literally can't whistle. Having a permanent gap in your teeth does that to you, unfortunately. But by god is he singing the singing parts.]

Come ooon and give a whistle! Let me hear you whistle! I know you can whistle! Everybody whistle!~

[And right on cue, Paco the Chatot extends his wings out to the side and whistles his little heart out for his trainer.]

Talent's only part of it. Practice is what makes me as good as I am.

[And she proceeds to demonstrate once again by whistling out a quick, eerie melody based on an old song about a banshee.]

Practice, huh...? No matter how much I practice, I just can't get it at all!

[Jimmy sighs, reaching a hand up to briefly feel where the gap in his teeth still is, and likely will continue to be forever.]

Well, you can't help your teeth. A thousand years of practice wouldn't let a man with no arms play the piano, despite his best efforts.

Ahh well...it's not so bad. At least I can still sing!

[She pauses a bit, trying to keep a straight face, then bursts into giggles.]

But it's better than Christmas Carols, right?

That depends entirely on the carol in question... but the more commonly sung ones, yes. Much better.

Man though, I dunno what it is about today...I just wanna sing!

Now that's a feeling I'm entirely familiar with. Though my songs tend to be a bit... slower than yours.

Everybody's got their own style of singing! Doesn't mean you can't join in whenever you want!

[The Chatot trills happily in response, lifting his wings from where they were folded at his sides.]

Well, he does have a natural advantage. Still, I think the two of you compliment each other well. You have similar brains.

Of course it just goes over Jimmy's head, though, because he adores all of his Pokemon and takes that as a compliment.]

[She's a tiny bit disappointed he didn't seem to notice she was teasing... but he's just so earnestly cheerful she can't mind too much.]
